The video of Judy Willis gave me a great insight to how the brain works, and why it's so important to make each individual in the classroom comfortable in their surroundings in order for them to retain the information being taught. It is important for a teacher to know their students, their prior knowledge and interests to be able to personalise the learning experiences in the classroom, creating a sense of comfort for the students. In my future classroom I will keep a small journal with each students name in it and record information about their interests and family life, that way I too will be able to personalise my learning experiences with my students.
A lot of children in Australia are already exposed to technology in their homes. Using ICT in the classroom can benefit the children by seeing relevance in what they are learning as most of them are already familiar with computers, ipads, mobile phones and ipods.
Based on the learning theories I believe each one has its benefits and a place within the classroom. I have only heard about connectivism through this course which is exactly the learning theory that we are all using through this course, by creating our own online support network.

Managing E-learning
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my first ever blog! I am currently studying on campus in Gladstone. As my profile picture shows, I am a mother to three beautiful children! Very challenging at times trying to juggle everything together, but I am 100% motivated and exciting to be studying a distance course! Good luck to everyone for this course and the remainder of your studies in completing the BLM :)
